COLLEGATO LAVORO (WORK CONNECTION): THE CHAMBER APPROVES THE CONCILIATION AND ARBITRATION FOR LABOUR CONSULTANTS

The Collegato Lavoro (Work Connection) to the Financial Act was approved in a second reading. The same also includes the possibility for the Provincial Councils of the Order of Labour Consultants to create Conciliation and Arbitration Commissions.

The AC 1441 quater/B therefore anticipates the deflationary role of the litigation in work issues, which, in this troublesome parliamentary process, faced significant obstacles and difficulties to the extent it had to be amended.

The constant contact with the Work Ministry and Parliament members made it possible to re-include the amendment, following an initiative by the government and the sponsor, and to approve the same in the Work Commission of the Chamber. However the Parliamentary process is obviously not completed and further phases could present more difficulties which will anyway be monitored and faced.

In the meantime, the disposition on the civil and commercial mediation is following its own process, as it is being discussed at the senate, which sets forth the institution by the Provincial Council of specific Commissions.

The activity of NCO aims at including controversies regarding work among the issues that are the subject of said Commissions’ responsibilities; the latter is presently also banned from the concurrent approval process of the reform of the work process.
